Check-In and Reflection Forms Made Easy – Educator Workshop
January 18, 2022 at 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm EST
FreeFunded by Microsoft Canada
With students behind turned off cameras and muted microphones, it’s difficult to gauge their interest, check for understanding and check in on their well-being.
It’s difficult for students, inside a video call full of silence, to break the ice and share that they’re stuck or confused. Join us as we share our strategy to help students share their thoughts more freely!
Using 2 simple forms with your students, a Check-In form and a Reflection form, you’ll discover how typing (or voice-to-text with Immersive Reader) can support student voice in your classroom. No fancy technology required!
Inside this 60-minute workshop, we’ll explore how to use Microsoft Forms and Microsoft Teams to check in with your students and provide a simple, yet impactful reflection opportunity after your lesson.
You’ll leave this workshop with a Check-In and Reflection form ready to use for your next lesson, a suggested plan on when to use each form and how to manage responses from students, and how to use Immersive Reader to help reluctant students share their thoughts.
Of course! This strategy can be used with or without Microsoft Teams. This strategy works with any online form and a Microsoft Form can be shared inside Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, any other LMS or via a link (no LMS required)!
While these workshops will be specifically referring to Grade 6 to Grade 8 classrooms, this strategy can be used with learners of all age groups – you just may need to scaffold to meet the needs of your class.
Thank you Microsoft Canada for funding this lesson so it can be FREE for all classrooms!
