BuildAbility was designed in collaboration with the Peel District School Board. Barriers explored in this world are a reflection of the knowledge and lived experiences of students and educators.
Using BuildAbility as a starting point for conversations and learning, this 60-minute hands-on co-taught lesson will name five accessibility barriers and help your students to identify them in various school and community environments. We’ll then connect this new learning to what we learned in our Accessibility and You Lesson featuring Your Windows Device.
Throughout this lesson, students will begin to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those with disabilities and learn, using information and authentic voices, about ways in which they can advocate for and support those individuals.
