1. What Personal Information Do We Collect?

Personal information is described in Canadian privacy legislation as information about an identifiable individual or as information that allows an individual to be identified. The types of personal information that we may collect about you includes your name, address, email address, School District/Board Name, role in education, and payment information.  Upon registration, individuals have the option to provide us with the grade level and class size.

We do not ask for personal information from students (those under the age of 18 and attending one of our events with their class) upon registration.  We only collect educator information to register.

 

2. Why Do We Collect Personal Information?

We collect personal information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Provide your school board with proof of attendance/registration if requested (only applicable on events where the school board is paying for the educator to attend);
  • Process payment information; and
  • Share news about upcoming events and additional products/services if given permission

 

3. How Do We Collect Your Personal Information?

We collect information from you upon registration of an event on our website or through a digital form (such as, but not limited to, an evaluation form, or a newsletter sign-up form.

 

4. To Whom Do We Disclose Your Personal Information

We do not disclose your personal information to third parties to enable them to market their products and services.

 

5. Use of Your Information

We use your personal information to communicate with you about the event you have registered for, provide information about additional products/services we offer, and process payment information (if applicable).

We do not disclose your personal information to any third-party to enable them to retail their products and services without first obtaining express consent from you. For example, we do not provide our client mailing list to any partners (Google for Education, Microsoft Canada, etc.) when we partner with them for events.  We may create overall reports with you non-identifying information (location and School Board/District name, if given) to showcase the impact and reach of events.

If your School Board/District has paid for your registration to an event, and upon request, we will share your name and email with your School Board/District as proof of purchase.

 

6. Where Do We Store Your Personal Information?

Your personal information is stored in our online registration system (WordPress website) and within our email service provider (ActiveCampaign).  At times we may store your personal information within our Google Workspace Enterprise account.

 

7. Privacy In Our Website

 Cookies

When you visit our website, we place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser directory of your computer’s hard drive. A cookie is a small piece of information that a website can store on your web browser and later retrieve. The cookie cannot be read by any website other than the one that set up the cookies. Some browsers can be set to reject all cookies. If you choose to modify your browser in this manner, some pages of this website may not function properly.

E-mail Communications

Occasionally we send marketing or promotional email communications to you with information that may be useful, including information about the services of The Cobblestone Collective and other third parties with whom we have a relationship. We will include instructions on how to unsubscribe and inform us of preferences if you decide you do not want to receive any future marketing or promotional emails from us.
