Welcome to Accessibility and Inclusion with Windows 11!  Setting up your device to be customized to suit your individual needs was not possible in the past.  But now with Windows 11 and Microsoft devices, you can truly take your learning into your own hands. Inside this crate, we’ll explore all the ways you can set up your device so that it truly reflects YOU – customizing your cursor, turning on speech recognition, adding captions and even helping you with your math homework! Accessibility and Inclusion are built into our Windows 11 devices intentionally so every learner can learn their best!

Building Fluency with Microsoft for Education

This Cobblestone Crate, designed for all ages (K-12), will bring all your literacy skills to life.  These short videos can be both professional development for yourself or co-taught lessons for you and your students.  This crate is designed to build literacy skills for your classroom. You and your students will explore and use OneNote and Flip (formerly known as Flipgrid) in order to build reading fluency, writing fluency and mathematical literacy skills. Come and take a look.

The Publishing Powers of Microsoft PowerPoint

The goal of this Microsoft PowerPoint crate is to assist students in expressing their ideas and thinking in creative and flexible ways! Students will explore the design features and publishing powers of Microsoft PowerPoint to expand their working knowledge of this presentation tool and to push their creativity to new levels. Students will learn a variety of digital literacy techniques to display information, communicate ideas, and produce beautiful digital art. No Microsoft PowerPoint presentation project will ever be the same after these four powerful and creative activities.

  2. Create a Landscape Masterpiece
  3. Create a Story Brainstorm
  4. Create a Character Summary

Frequently Asked Questions

All of your lessons are packaged into a concise video, typically between 20-30 minutes.  We encourage you to preview them beforehand to ensure a basic understanding of the concepts being discussed.

Pro-Tip: Open the video directly in YouTube, speed up the playback speed and open the transcripts for quicker viewing!

We encourage you and your class to pause the videos at certain times for class discussions, student reflections and practice/creativity time.

Each lesson plan has the length of the co-taught lesson video as well as our suggested supplemental time to complete the activties.

Reflection activities and sharing strategies will be provided for each activity, but we’ll leave any assessment techniques up to you, recognizing the many different assessment options that are out there.
